Rachel Simons Dishes on Her Debut Cookbook at Chelsea Market

Rachel Simons, co-founder of cult-favorite Seed + Mill, has officially added author to her résumé with the release of Sesame: Global Recipes & Stories of an Ancient Seed (Ten Speed Press). The cookbook is a vibrant celebration of the sesame seed in all its forms—tahini, oil, halva, and more—featuring over 80 globally inspired recipes and guest contributions from chefs like David Lebovitz and Molly Yeh.
We caught up with Simons at a recent book signing at Chelsea Market, where fans lined up for signed copies and a taste of her signature tahini magic.
Sesame is available now at bookstores and online retailers like Amazon.
