New York’s gelato scene just got a serious upgrade. Rivareno Gelato, the award-winning Bologna-based brand often hailed as Italy’s “best” gelato, has opened its first NYC shop at 195 Spring Street. Known for making gelato fresh daily on-site, Rivareno is celebrated for its rich textures, top-quality ingredients, and bold takes on Italian classics.
Signature flavors include Cremino RivaReno (hazelnut butter, white chocolate, and Gianduia sauce), Alice (mascarpone with Marsala wine), and Gran Torino (dark chocolate, Piedmont hazelnuts, and sea salt). Contessa, a standout with almond butter, hazelnut butter, and amaretti cookies, adds extra crunch.
For fruit lovers, Rivareno’s sorbets are dairy-free and made with up to 65% real fruit. Seasonal highlights include Lampone (raspberry), Limone (lemon), Arancia Rossa (blood orange), and Bergamotto (bergamot), offering bright, refreshing flavors to balance the creamy classics.
Beyond gelato, the shop features freshly made waffles, brownies, milkshakes, gelato cakes, and other Italian sweets, making it a year-round destination for dessert lovers.
