Lower Manhattan turned into a culinary playground as food lovers gathered at Fosun Plaza for this year’s Dine Around Downtown. The lunchtime crowd buzzed with energy, savoring everything from the elevated dishes of Manhatta and Delmonico’s to savory meatballs served up hot by Harry’s Italian. Newcomer Metropolis also made waves with a modern twist on classic flavors, proving why it’s one to watch.
We caught up with chef and host Rocco DiSpirito, who called the festival “an event where we bring all of the great restaurants from Lower Manhattan... featuring everyone’s favorites.” Off the plaza and onto the beach, Rocco also revealed details about his new Hamptons venture: Pop-Up by Rocco, now open in Southampton through Labor Day. The menu? Italian coastal meets Long Island, with a heavy lean into fresh seafood — and yes, he’ll be on the line four days a week.
