Visitors to The Shed at Hudson Yards will be able to experience music as never before inside Sonic Sphere, a vast, 65-foot-diameter spherical concert hall suspended in air with immersive sound and light, creating a true multisensory experience. The installation will run June 9 until July 7.
Within the sphere, you will be surrounded by more than 100 speakers that move sound above, below, through, and around your body.
Ticketholders can attend transformative listening sessions featuring new mixes of The xx's self-titled debut album and Steve Reich's “Music for 18 Musicians”. One can also dive into electronic music's family tree with a playlist including J Dilla, Sun Ra, Derrick May, Karlheinz Stockhausen, and others curated by Carl Craig, as well as a playlist of Yaeji’s songs and musical influences.
In addition, one will be able to experience electrifying live performances by Madame Gandhi, yunè pinku, UNIIQU3, and Igor Levit collaborating with visual artist Rirkrit Tiravanija.
