Sugarfish, led by celebrated sushi chef Kazunori Nozawa, now has a location in Midtown East. After training with master chefs in Tokyo and throughout Japan, Nozawa’s philosophy has redefined the sushi experience based on the best fish sourced from around the world, warm, loosely-packed rice and crisp nori.

Like Midtown West, SoHo, and Flatiron, Midtown East will also feature “Don’t Think. Just Eat.,” a chef’s menu closely resembling Nozawa’s original Studio City, California omakase.

“While the actual menu may change from day to day, the core of the ‘Don’t Think. Just Eat.’ is as old-school-Nozawa as it gets,” says co-founder Tom Nozawa. “Adding things like the kombu to the salmon, or shiso to the sea bream are hallmarks of what my Dad served decades ago to his regular guests."

The 40-seat restaurant features architecture and interiors by Marmol Radziner. Walnut ceilings and walls meet concrete floors, metal, and dark brick to create a minimal, serene setting that echoes the simple, tradition-based sushi that has become synonymous with SUGARFISH. Double-height windows look onto the outdoor patio.

Sugarfish by Sushi Nozawa is located 152 E 53rd St, New York, NY
