On Saturday, February 22, 2025, the Broadway sensation The Book of Mormon celebrated its 5,124th performance, surpassing Rent to become the 11th longest-running show in Broadway history. The milestone was marked by a special video featuring cast members Jacques C. Smith and John Eric Parker, both of whom made their Broadway debuts in the original production of Rent.
Earlier, on November 4, 2024, the production commemorated its 5,000th performance at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre, solidifying its status as the longest-running show in the theater's century-long history. Beyond Broadway, The Book of Mormon continues to captivate audiences with productions in the West End, a North American tour, and an upcoming opening in Sydney, Australia, scheduled for July.
The Book of Mormon features book, music and lyrics by Trey Parker, Robert Lopez and Matt Stone. The production is choreographed by Casey Nicholaw and is directed by Nicholaw and Parker.
