The Feathered Fox Opens in Jersey City

After earning a loyal following in Livingston, NJ, The Feathered Fox has made its return—this time with waterfront views. Reopening at Liberty State Park’s Maritime Parc, the modern steakhouse and seafood restaurant from Executive Chef Christopher Siversen and partner Marc Haskell brings bold flavors, striking design, and a top-tier cocktail and wine program to Jersey City’s vibrant dining scene.
The new location features multiple seating areas: a plush 52-seat dining room, 44-seat lounge and bar, and a sweeping 116-seat terrace for dock-and-dine dining on the Hudson. Guests can arrive by foot or boat and settle in with a spritz and a plate of oysters, while admiring views of downtown Manhattan, Ellis Island, and the Statue of Liberty.
The menu is a celebration of surf and turf, beginning with an impressive raw bar (featuring Gulf White Shrimp and Hamachi Crudo) and leading into a sushi program that sources fresh fish directly from Japan. Standouts include the Truffle Scallop Roll with torched scallop and truffle salt, and the signature Feathered Roll with salmon, spicy tuna, and glazed spicy mayo. For something more decadent, the Foxy Roll layers lobster tail tempura and topped with seared Miyazaki Wagyu steak.
From the kitchen, larger starters include Spanish Octopus with crispy potatoes and tomato-feta dressing, and a wedge salad reimagined with gorgonzola dolce and buttermilk vinaigrette. Entrées like Halibut with Meyer lemon sauce, Roasted Chicken with spiced yogurt, and a creamy Lobster Fettuccini Carbonara are complemented by a full roster of Prime steaks and chops—including Porterhouse, NY Strip, and Petit Filet. Sides shine with dishes like Duck Confit Mac & Cheese, garlicky house-cut Foxy Fries, Fried Mash Rings served with grainy mustard fondue.
The bar program, led by Head Bartender Erin Green, strikes a confident balance between classic and creative. There’s the Filthy Bleu Martini garnished with blue cheese-stuffed olives, and the Fox & Vixen, a milk punch laced with spiced peach and tea. The Velvet Watermelon, made with falernum and tajín, leans tropical and bright, while the Yellow Bee and Never Settle offer citrus-forward refreshment for warm nights on the terrace.
The wine list, curated by VP of Operations & Beverage Director Jette Starniri, is equally thoughtful. A rotating Coravin list highlights white Burgundy from Domaine Faiveley, while the by-the-glass menu includes crisp Pinot Grigio, zippy Sancerre, and a soft Gruner Veltliner. For reds, think elegant Willamette Valley Pinot Noir, structured Nebbiolo, and bold selections like Stolpman Vinyard’s Syrah and Chappellet’s Mountain Cuvée.
The space, designed by Christian Arkay-Leliever, ditches the typical steakhouse darkness in favor of jewel-toned vibrancy. A 15-seat bar, glass wine cellar, and artful lighting set the tone, while rich textures and curated décor offer warmth and sophistication. Whether dining casually at the bar or settling into a banquette for a special occasion, the ambiance feels both upscale and inviting.
With service Wednesday through Sunday (and Sunday brunch from 11am–3pm), The Feathered Fox is ready to welcome a new wave of diners—from locals in the know to visitors arriving by yacht. Reservations are available via OpenTable or by phone at 201-419-6791.
