The Yurts have it at Crown Shy's ''Shy Village'' in FiDi
December 30, 2020, 12:34.09 am ET
Crown Shy, the restaurant operated by Chef James Kent and Restaurateur Jeff Katz, now has Yurts available for outdoor dining. The project called "Shy Village" is a series of circular tents where diners can share a meal outdoors away from the elements. We counted eight or nine of them decked out with holiday lights and garland.
Crown Shy is located in an Art Deco building in the heart of the Financial District. The Shy Village comes with a prix fixe menu: $125 for the first seating and $165 for the second.
Options include includes appetizers like Chickpea Tagine with winter squash, olives & preserved lemon, and Scallop Crudo with citrus and radish. Entrees include Roasted Lamb, a 40 Day Dry-Aged Ribeye and Black Bass. Pineapple Tart Tatin is served for dessert with coconut and pistachio ice cream. Guests will also find classic cocktails like a Cranberry Negroni and Vodka Crown.
