At just a few square feet wide, Twig’m at Bowery Market is small in size but big on flavor. The husband-and-wife team behind the stand is channeling Korea’s beloved street snack gangjung—a crisp, sticky, sweet-and-savory fried chicken that hits all the right notes.

Chef Sean Lee, launching his first solo project after years in NYC’s restaurant scene, offers two standout gangjung flavors: Sweet & Spicy and Soy Garlic. Both coat tender boneless chicken thighs, fried to golden perfection and topped with chewy rice cakes. Can’t decide? Go Half & Half. Another favorite: the UFO—crispy chicken over rice with a drizzle of sweet mayo and a side of pickled jalapeños.

Beyond the bird, Twig’m keeps things playful with tuna-mayo rice balls and stir-fried kimchi, plus snowman-shaped fried rice cakes glazed in sweet heat.

It’s fast, flavorful, and pure comfort—with just enough edge to keep New Yorkers coming back.
