From the team at Laut comes Wau on the Upper West Side serving the flavors of Southeast Asia. The meal begins with dishes like fried samosas filled with potatoes, peas and spices, and char-grilled skewers with a p peanut dipping sauce made with chicken, lamb, goat and shrimp, among others. Larger plates bring Nasi Lemak, the national dish of Malaysia with grilled squid, dried “little fish”, chicken lemongrass, sweet & sour salad, and coconut rice; Udang Panggang Harum made with char-grilled prawns, fried egg, lemongrass in a chili sauce; and Kari Ayam, chicken curry with roti paratha. All are served in a festive atmosphere.
