Wegmans is Going Full Throttle with The Pizza Cupcake

The Pizza Cupcake, after scoring a six-figure deal on Shark Tank, is going mainstream. The frozen snacks will soon be appearing at 106 Wegmans grocery stores in 7 Northeastern states, including New York and New Jersey.
The Pizza Cupcake, led by husband-and-wife partners Michelle Jimenez-Meggiato and Andrea Meggiato (also a Venice, Italy native), launched in 2019 and experienced impressive success amidst the backdrop of the pandemic. Different from other pizza-inspired snacks, the cupcake-size treat are made with a secret hybrid of brioche and sourdough. They are filled with fresh mozzarella and San Marzano tomatoes. A pepperoni version is also available.
