Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest | July 4 | Coney Island
One of New York’s most legendary July 4th traditions returns to Surf and Stillwell with buns blazing. Patrick Bertoletti clinched his first Mustard Belt in 2024 with 58 hot dogs, while reigning champ Miki Sudo devoured 51 to earn her 10th title on the women’s side. The event is free to attend and always packs a crowd—so arrive early if you want a front-row spot for the madness.
Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks | July 4 | East River
The nation’s largest Independence Day fireworks show lights up the NYC skyline for its 49th year, launching from the Brooklyn Bridge and barges along the East River. Expect music, dazzling visuals, and citywide views. Official viewing areas and a public lottery for free tickets. For best sightlines, head toward the Seaport District or Brooklyn waterfront.
