The Whitney Museum of American Art is going all out for Pride 2025 with a month-long series of free public programs designed to celebrate LGBTQ+ communities through art, music, and collective joy. Kicking off June 1, “Pride at the Whitney” honors not just queer history, but the Museum’s own 10-year anniversary in the Meatpacking District, part of the Museum’s ongoing commitment to support LGBTQ+ artists and communities and offer an inclusive space for all to gather and enjoy American art.

The festivities begin with Queer History Walks, a guided outdoor series running throughout the month, tracing LGBTQ+ legacies from the nearby Hudson River piers to iconic clubs of decades past. On June 8, the museum’s Free Second Sunday will spotlight family-friendly programming, hands-on artmaking, and the collaborative Whitney Community Pride Mural, inviting visitors to reflect on their personal connections to Pride.

Teens take center stage on June 13 during Queer Teen Night, hosted by artist Dalton Gata in collaboration with The Door, featuring performances, workshops, and exhibition tours. On June 18, the Radical Joy Ball brings music, dance, and runway performances to the Whitney’s theater, in partnership with ADAPT Community Network, creating a celebratory space for LGBTQ+ and disabled communities.

The month culminates in a powerful performance by the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus on June 27 during Free Friday Night, with soaring vocals echoing through the galleries in one of the city’s most beloved Pride traditions.

Admission is free for all featured events, but advance booking is recommended. Full details and registration links are available at whitney.org/pride-2025.
