Jeppe Jarnit-Bjergsø, the founder of Evil Twin Brewing, discusses his new New York City brewery in an exclusive interview with Cititour.com, what's on tap for the future and his rivalry with his brother, Mikkel Borg Bjergsø, co-founder of Mikkeller.

Q: Why did you pick New York City for your first you first brewery? And in particular, why Ridgewood, Queens?

Jeppe: New York because it's where I live and a city that I have been a part of the last 8 years! Ridgewood was a coincidence, the space fell into our laps. Having been here for 3+ years now I really like the neighborhoody feeling of the area.

Q: Do you have plans for other breweries in New York or the U.S. in the future.

Jeppe: For now no, it's been quite the challenge to get this up and running, but never say never :)

Q: What is your favorite Evil Twin beer and why?

Jeppe: That's like asking, who is your favorite child! The beer I'm most proud of is Even More Jesus, I always thought that was the most complex recipe I ever made!

Q: Do you have new beers in the hopper? What new brews can fans expect in the future?

Jeppe: Yes, a lot! Too many to name! We plan to release 3-4 new beers every week, to keep our fans interested and happy!

Q: You like to have fun with the artwork and messages on your cans. How did that start? And are you trying to make a statement beyond beer?

Jeppe: I don't know if it's a statement, but I just like to have fun and not take it too seriously. Beer should not be serious, it's meant to make people joyful and happy!

Q: What's behind the name Evil Twin?

Jeppe: I'm a twin and I might be evil.....

Q: It's no secret, according to print reports, that you have a rivalry with your brother, Mikkel Borg Bjergsø, co-founder of Mikkeller. Does that rivalry exist today? And if so, who is winning?

Jeppe: Rivalry is such a distinct word. I have a brother who happens to be in the same business, but we are extremely different and just don't get along. I am not a fan of how he does things, like selling out and licensing his brand out, because I own my own business 100% with my wife and am very involved every single day.
