Manhattan may have Eataly, but Brooklyn has A.L. Coluccio. This Italian market in Bay Ridge is run by Louis Coluccio, who is following in his father's footsteps by bringing Italian specialties to America.
The shop is bustling with Italian imports. There are pastas in all shapes and sizes, cured meats & sausages and cheeses. Loaves of Italian bread, some loaded with chunks of proscuitto line the counter, along with marinated green olives and freshly made mozzarella. The shop is also selling pizza dough from Di Fara's in Midwood, which was sold out during out visit. Prepared foods and Italian sandwiches are also being offered. The best thing about Coluccio's may be Louis himself. His friendly demeanor and knowledge of food are sure to have customers coming back for more.
