On a sunny corner on Fulton Street you'll find Fort Greene's very own beer garden. With 18 German brews on tap (and 20 bottles), Der Schwarze Kölner is already packing 'em in. It's checkerboard floors, folding chairs and communal tables seem to fit right in the neighborhood's "comfort" zone, making it a great spot to meet up with friends for some serious drinking. We were there on a Sunday afternoon and the place was packed.
Der Schwarze Kölner is the brainchild of two German ex-pats, Dale Hall and Randi Lockermann, who plan to serve up cheese platters and pretzels, along with traditional German sausages and schnitzels. Yum!
