Summary:

Festive Mexican arrives in Harlem at La Chula, Chef Julian Medina's tribute to the foods of Mexico City. The taqueria is offering traditional tacos along with ceviches, burritos and tortas. The restaurant boasts a full bar with a healthy assortment of tequilas for margaritas, frozen or on the rocks, and cerveza. Tacos are made with hand-pressed corn tortillas with fillings like beer-braised brisket (Suadero) and beef short rib with chorizo, chicharron and morita salsa (Campechano). Chile Relleno takes on a new twist with poblano peppers stuffed with fresh seafood and Mexican cheeses. Ceviche is served three ways, including fluke with heirloom tomatoes, red onion and cilantro in a citrusy sauce. Other dishes include a tuna tostada, chicken enchiladas and Mexican corn on the cob, called elote, smothered with queso fresco and a dusting of chili pepper with hints of lime.
