Details:

La Piazza, the acclaimed Venetian dining concept known for its opulent take on Northern Italian cuisine, has landed in Midtown Manhattan. Tucked into a sun-soaked bi-level space at 20 East 49th Street, the new outpost marks the brand’s New York debut, adding a slice of la dolce vita to Rockefeller Center.

Founded by restaurateur brothers Juljan and Ledjo Musabelliu—whose culinary empire spans Venice to Mykonos—La Piazza is helmed by Executive Chef Fabrizio Bresciani, a seasoned talent with over three decades in Italian fine dining. His menu marries the elegance of classic Venetian fare with modern touches and a heavy emphasis on pristine seafood flown in from Italy.

Expect luxe touches from the start: Purple Shrimp Tartare with burrata, squid ink spaghetti prepared Venetian-style, and risotto laced with purple prawns, artichokes, and creamy burrata. Main plates lean indulgent—pistachio-crusted tuna with avocado, grilled Adriatic fish for two, and Welsh lamb chops with silken potato purée. Don’t skip the signature wood-fired pizzas, especially the lobster-studded Pizza La Piazza and truffle-loaded Pizza Tartufatta.

The wine list reads like a love letter to Italy, with Barolo, Valpolicella, and Franciacorta anchoring a cellar built for pairings. And if you’ve still got room, a textbook-perfect tiramisu awaits.

Design-wise, the space is every bit as transportive—floor-to-ceiling windows, marble bar, olive green booths, and a theatrical open pizza oven crowned with Venetian carnival masks.

La Piazza is now open daily for lunch and dinner. Reservations recommended.
