Cuisine: Bar Food, Pizza, Burgers
Cititour Review: Luna Park is a seasonal bar in the heart of Union Square. Perfect for after work gatherings or lazy afternoons on the weekend the open air atmosphere is always relaxed. Luna Park is open May through October weather permitting. The bar is hidden in the foliage of Union Square Park and can appear as almost a mirage under the glow of the white lights strung overhead. Steps lead you down to the restaurant section to the left or the bar to the right if you are skipping the grub. The food is average to good, but the reasonable prices are a bonus. We ordered individual Margherita pizzas ($11) with plum tomatoes, shredded mozzarella, grated parmesan and basil. We also ordered juicy cheese burgers ($11) grilled to order in the airy, visible kitchen situated in the back of the space. The drinks were flowing in this trendy al fresco spot. Keep in mind the crowds do pack in so you may have to wait a few minutes for a table or fight your way to the bar for a drink. But once you settle down at a table with a bucket of beers and a summer breeze Luna Park canít be beat.
