Every pizza shop in New York City seems to have its own style or story. My Pie in Midtown has both. The story comes from a Roman dough recipe; Italian flour, no sugar, and the dough need to sit for 48 hours. The result is a surprisingly crunchy crust with a nice chew. The style is Sicilian. Square pies about three feet long fill an entire tray. Flavors include truffle oil mushroom, fresh mozzarella, basil, buffalo chicken and spinach with artichoke. We tried the dry Italian sausage which had a fresh taste and a spicy kick. Prices start at $4 a slice and up to $32 for an extra-large pie. - Thomas Rafael
