Nobu is setting its sights on the Financial District with a dramatic new space in a landmark building. Nobu Downtown features a bar and lounge on the ground floor with massive limestone columns and a striking hand-carved wooden ash brushstroke sculpture by artist John Houshmand. Below ground level is an elegant dining space with a wavy wooden canopy connecting a series of dining areas. Both spaces were designed by David Rockwell and the Rockwell Group. The menu features classic Nobu dishes like Black Cod Miso, Yellowtail Jalapeno, and an updated Matsuhisa Slider on a grilled tofu bun. New menu items include Plancha-Grilled Octopus with Chocolo Salsa, Short Ribs with Jalapeno Salsa, and Bigeye Tuna Tataki with Truffle Eryngii Mushrooms. You will also find interactive cocktails like The Smoker made from a smoked whiskey, and Sake Fresca made with infused seasonal fruits. Both drinks are exclusive to Nobu Downtown. Private dining rooms are available for Omakase and Osusume, as well as at a 13-seat sushi bar and open kitchen. It's all meant to punctuate the Nobu experience.
