It's no Peter Luger's or Smith & Wollensky's, but Tad's Steak House has its place in the New York restaurant scene. Where else could you find a t-bone for under 8 bucks and watch as it's flame broiled right before your eyes. Tad's is for the working class. My first experience with Tad's was about 20 years ago and it hasn't changed a bit. Steaks and potatoes are served up cafeteria style. But be careful as you go along the line and add things, the price is also adding up and you'll often hear some griping at the end of the line when that $8 dinner is now more than 10 bucks. The steaks are thin and the service about what you would expect in a fast-food joint, but New York wouldn't be the same without it.
