The Winslow

The Winslow

Cuisine: American, Bar Food

Summary: The Winslow is winning over fans in the East Village for its cocktails and pub food. The U.K.-inspired gin joint is giving a new twist to the Gin & Tonic. One version involves Hendricks with the aroma of cucumber and rose petals, while another adds a bright pine scent and sage to St. George Terroir Gin. There are also classic cocktails like the Bee's Knees made with gin, honey lemon and bee pollen. Not into gin? There are 20 British beers on tap. Dinner brings dishes like the "Three Little Pigs;" a cheddar beer worst, bratwurst and pork banger, along with Scotch eggs, and crumpets served with house-smoked salmon, lamb or duck confit. Other traditional dishes include shepherd's pie, fish & chips, and bangers & mash. Desserts range from a mixed berry shortcake with chantilly cream to a sticky toffee pudding with vanilla bean ice cream.
