Apotheke Nomad Opens Lounge and Rooftop Terrace

Apotheke NoMad, the sister of the beloved Chinatown original, has opened atop the Sonder Flatiron (9 West 26th Street). The stunning rooftop terrace and penthouse was designed by the late Christopher Tierney.
Located on the 11th floor, the lounge is accessible only via a private elevator through the speakeasy. The room is framed by a wall of breathtaking stained-glass windows, also designed by Tierney. At sunset, the light pierces through the windows and throws a stunning amber glow around the room with dazzling effects.
On the rooftop terrace, plants and botanicals abound. The highlight of the space is a lush herb garden, where garnishes and ingredients for the seasonally changing menu are grown. An atrium, with a retractable roof and windows, will be installed later this year.
In addition to Apotheke's famed "formula" menu, the rooftop terrace and penthouse lounge features a rotation of four, fresh and botanical draft cocktails created by Mixology and Culinary Arts Director Nicolas O'Connor. To pair with the cocktails, a raw bar is available, offering an assortment of fresh seafood, sustainable caviar and seasonal crudites.
