Cititour Review: There's nothing like a pie to put a smile on your face. Enter - Pie Face. This small Australian import on the corner of 53rd Street and Broadway is selling an assortment of pies, both sweet and savory. I brought three of the pies home to sample. The mince pie is chock full of ground beef in a tomatoey sauce. It kind of reminded me of a sloppy Joe inside a delicate crust and is a little sloppy to eat. A second pie had nice big chunks of tender steak. Think flavorful beef stew. It was my favorite. The chicken and mushroom was my least favorite, although it was still quite tasty. In fact, all three pies were gobbled up just moments after landing on the kitchen table. No, I didn't eat three. I could have, but my wife and son helped out quite a bit. We had ordered the large pies which sell for $5.95 apiece ($2.95 if you want their smaller brethren). If you are in need of something sweet, you will find danish, croissant, cookies and scones alongside mini pies in flavors like chocolate, lemon, apple crumb and pumpkin. So, put on your happy face and head over to Pie Face. Be happy! Neighborhood: West 50s
