The first booth I visit belongs to Grace Napoleon. "These are clothes made out of clothes," she explains. Basically she cuts up "standard" clothing items and recombines them to make far more fabulous garb. more

Hard to believe it’s over thirty-five years since the original production of "A Little Night Music" shined on Broadway. Now a leaner, meaner version is on Broadway starring Catherine Zeta-Jones. more

Christian Audigier by Pamela Grossman
January 17, 2010, 3:39.25 pm ET

As the Mammas and the Pappas sang, "I'd be safe and warm if I was in L.A."—still busy, perhaps, but less teeth-chattery. It was with this in mind that I ducked into SoHo's Christian Audigier Los Angeles. more

Race by Lesley Alexander
January 17, 2010, 3:28.06 pm ET

"Race", the latest from David Mamet is painfully contrived, overtly political and lightly misogynistic. But Mamet can never be accused of being shy when it comes to attacking provocative subjects and his newest entry is no exception. more

Purple Yam by Thomas Rafael
January 17, 2010, 3:24.41 pm ET

When we arrived at Purple Yam we found a packed house with a crowd standing by the door waiting for tables. No, this wasn't a Saturday night in SoHo. It was Sunday and a pretty dreary one at that, in Ditmas Park, Brooklyn which made the crowd even more surprising. Or maybe not. more

Grand Bo Ko by Thomas Rafael
January 17, 2010, 3:22.32 pm ET

I love soup. It truly does warm the soul on a chilly winter's day, or any day for that matter. But finding good, hearty soups can be hard to find. Which brings us to Grand Bo Ky on the border of Chinatown and Little Italy. more

Aureole by Thomas Rafael
January 11, 2010, 5:35.10 pm ET

I think what's best about the new Aureole is that it's for all the people. It's a far cry from its former lair; a quaint townhouse uptown. Charlie Palmer has gone for bold and brash. And if you ever wanted to make a statement, Times Square is the place to do it. more

In The Next Room by Lesley Alexander
January 11, 2010, 5:23.15 pm ET

In The Next Room (or the vibrator play), Sarah Ruhl’s dramedy about awakening sexuality among Victorian women, and men, slips from silly, guilty pleasure to over indulgent imagery. more

COA by Pamela Grossman
January 3, 2010, 3:16.17 pm ET

My friend Jen and I were walking along Clinton Street when we saw a silkscreen print, conveying a few choice words, hanging on a shop's wall. What it said is not printable in a family-friendly venue, but it was intriguing enough to draw us inside. more

Rocky Sullivan's by Thomas Rafael
January 3, 2010, 2:59.13 pm ET

Rocky Sullivan's is well off-the beaten track in Red Hook, Brooklyn. It's surrounded by industrial lots and a smattering of homes. So it was quite surprising to walk through the door and find a thriving bar and restaurant. more
