Brooklyn comes to life with the annual West Indian Day Parade and Festival in Crown heights. Similar to Caranaval, the parade features colorful floats, music and costumes celebrating Caribbean culture along with traditional foods. The parade is held each year on Labor Day and stretches across parts of Eastern Parkway, Empire Boulevard, Flabush Avenue and Nostrand Avenue.
