Brooklyn Bridge Park (BBP) and Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy are offering a wide variety of free and low-cost summer programming at Brooklyn Bridge Park that includes movie screenings, music concerts, dance parties, and more! Events include:

-the Conservancy’s most popular series, Movies With A View Presented by Pluto TV – now in its 24th season! – which shows free outdoor movies on Thursday evenings from July 11 to August 29 at Pier 1 Harbor View Lawn. Each evening, the lawn opens at 5:00 PM on a first-come, first-serve basis, and the movie begins at sunset. Attendees can enjoy a range of concessions and beverages for sale on-site.

-Purple Rain 40th Anniversary Celebration, a special film screening and dance party paying tribute to Prince’s legendary album and movie on Friday, July 26 and Saturday, July 27 from 6:30 to 10:30 PM at Pier 3 Plaza.

-Sounds at Sunset, a series of free concerts taking place on Friday evenings across the summer season at locations across the Park.

-the Conservancy’s new Lazy Daze series, which features an opportunity to relax, lay out, and enjoy chill Sunday afternoons (4:00 - 9:00 PM) at Pier 6 Liberty Lawn, while a rotation of DJs are featured in the background. Food and drink available for sale by Fornino.

-various programs for all ages, such as The Big Busk With Citizen Cope (Saturday, July 13 from 3:30 - 6:30 PM), Open Studios: Fogo Azul (Sunday, July 14 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM), and the Big Summer Benefit Dance (Saturday, July 20 from 3:00 - 9:00 PM).

Sounds at Sunset: Yacouba Sissoko

FRIDAY, JULY 12

The Sounds at Sunset concert series is a series of free music concerts that take place on Fridays across the summer season at locations across the Park.

On Friday, July 12, world-renowned kora player Yacouba Sissoko and his band SIYA take us on a musical journey sharing West African songs and stories that have been passed down from generation to generation.

The Big Busk With Citizen Cope

SATURDAY, JULY 13
3:30 - 6:30 PM

Citizen Cope and Friends leads an open busk performance at Pier 1 Granite Prospect presenting classic covers and inviting members of the public to join the performance! Musicians of all ages and abilities are welcome to participate by taking part in a massive, sing- and play-along – must register in advance to perform.

Clarence Greenwood, also known by his stage name, Citizen Cope, is an American songwriter, producer, and singer. This free event is hosted by Citizen Cope, in partnership with Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy and NYC Guitar School.

Open Studios: Fogo Azul

SUNDAY, JULY 14
2:00 - 5:00 PM

NYC-based all-women, trans, and non-binary Brazilian Samba Reggae drum line Fogo Azul presents free live music in the Brooklyn Bridge Park, as part of Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy’s Open Studios program. Fogo Azul will have three performances at Pier 6 Plaza throughout the summer, all on Sundays: July 14, August 11, and September 8.

Shore Thing

WEDNESDAY, JULY 17
6:00 - 10:00 PM

Join these after-work sunset socials made for New Yorkers looking for new connections and out-of-the-ordinary experiences. Get down while it goes down, find new friends, and celebrate the magic of summer in New York City. Each evening, enjoy concessions from Bar by Fornino. RSVP for updates and post-event photo links.

Shore Thing, a splashy sunset social series, will be warming up the waterfront one Wednesday a month through September. Set against the backdrop of the iconic city skyline and the twinkle of the Brooklyn Bridge, young New Yorkers and Brooklynites from all over are welcome to get shored up at the shoreline.

The events are made possible by Space Invader Social in partnership with Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy.

Big Summer Benefit Dance

SATURDAY, JULY 20

Join Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy to Party With A Purpose on the waterfront, presenting A Love Saves the Day Tribute to David Mancuso and his cultural contributions to music, dance, and community.

The folks at The Loft, the longest-running underground dance party in New York City, have partnered with the Conservancy to throw an outdoor party at Brooklyn Bridge Park. Strap on your dancing shoes and step out for an unforgettable celebration of music and dancing at Pier 3 Plaza.

This is a ticketed dance party, with proceeds benefiting Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy’s free programming. Join for this all-ages dance event to have a blast while giving back to the community. Open to all ages, tickets start at $70 (early bird $55 tickets available until July 1).

Lazy Daze: Lovers Rock

NYC’s longest-running reggae day party arrives in Brooklyn! Join host Ma Cherie & DJ Jam Central for an afternoon of Studio One, Lovers Rock, and dancehall at Pier 6 Liberty Lawn.

This event is part of the Conservancy’s new Lazy Daze series, featuring an opportunity to relax, lay out, and enjoy chill Sunday afternoons at Pier 6 Liberty Lawn in Brooklyn Bridge Park while a rotation of DJs are featured in the background. Food and drink will be available for sale by Fornino.

Sounds at Sunset: Brooklyn Americana Music

The Sounds at Sunset concert series is a series of free music concerts that take place on Fridays across the summer season at locations across the Park.

The Brooklyn Americana Music Festival returns to Brooklyn Bridge Park on Friday, July 26. Celebrating 10 years, their annual festival curates a blend of internationally recognized and up-and-coming music artists. Performances by Jan Bell & The Maybelles, Tyrone Cotton, and Mike Younger. Free and for all ages.

Sounds at Sunset: Steely Dan Happy Hour

SUNDAY, JULY 28

The Sounds at Sunset concert series is a series of free music concerts that take place on Fridays across the summer season at locations across the Park.

The Royal Scam will helm Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy’s Steely Dan Happy Hour - a tribute to Steely Dan and the enduring appeal of Walter Becker and Donald Fagen’s music. Free and for all ages.
