On Tuesday, August 16th, for one-night only, Wollensky’s Grill will be hosting Gotham Burger Social Club for a smash burger pop-up. Starting at 4 PM, Gotham Burger Social Club will be serving their award-winning smash burgers on Wollensky’s Grill patio alongside martinis and old fashioneds.
Wollensky’s Grill is the the casual off-shoot of Smith & Wollensky serving burgers, steaks, and is open late. It’s a place where you come for the food, but stay for the bartenders and their incredibly hospitable service. Classic cocktails like the extra-large martini are the perfect complement to the old-school vibe, and reservations are available on Resy.
The Gotham Burger Social Club was founded in 2013 by Mike Puma to bring his love of food and friends together. What was to be a year-long burger tour in which they tasted and reviewed thousands of burgers, turned into a lifestyle. Throughout the process, Mike mastered his own recipe for what has become the nostalgic Gotham Smash Burger, which became wildly popular through being served at numerous fundraisers and pop-ups in New York throughout the years.
During the pandemic, Mike used the success of the Gotham smash burger as a platform to amplify other restaurants and chefs, hosting weekly pop-ups with lines of people waiting to taste their award winning burger. Next, the team hopes to find itself a brick and mortar location in the near future.
