Get ready for the Feast of San Gennaro which will be held in Little Italy from Thursday, September 12 to Sunday, September 22. The Feast honors San Gennaro of Naples who was Bishop of Benevento, Italy and who was martyred in 305 AD. The event dates back to 1926 when Neapolitan immigrants settled in New York City's Litte Italy neighborhood and decided to hold a street festival in honor of their patron saint and the Feast of San Gennaro was born.

Today the festival stretches across 11 blocks and draws huge crowds over an 11-day period.

Key Dates:

Sept 12: Blessing of the Stands – 268 Mulberry Street (6:00 pm - 7:00 pm)

Sept 14: The Grand Procession featuring floats, gondola, celebrities and antique cars – 268 Mulberry Street (2pm-5pm)

Sept 19: Solemn High Mass celebrating the patron Saint of Naples (6pm) at the Church of the Most Precious Blood at 113 Baxter Street

Visitors to the feast can also enjoy their favorite Italian street foods including zeppoles, calzones, sausage & peppers, cannolis and more. Area restaurants will also be setting up outdoor stands for dining and drinks. This year, the Grand Marshall of the 98th Annual Feast of San Gennaro will be Chef and Food Network star Anne Burrell.

The Feast of San Gennaro takes place on Mulberry Street between Canal and Houston and on Hester between Baxter Street and Centre Street. For more information, visit https://sangennaronyc.org/
