New Yorkers will have the rare chance to meet a member of the famed Japanese family making soba since the time of George Washington when Sarashina Horii welcomes owner and 9th generation soba master Yoshinori Horii. When the historic Japanese soba restaurant (established in 1789) opened its first location outside Japan here last summer, he was unable to travel due to pandemic travel restrictions.

To mark this long-delayed visit – and the restaurant’s upcoming first anniversary – from June 27th – 29th, Horii will collaborate with his NYC chef on a special menu celebrating soba, featuring their signature unique Sarashina white soba in various forms, and he will personally welcome diners at every table. The special menu features cold soba, soba sushi rolls, soba risotto, crispy soba, soba tea panna cotta and more – including a new soba cocktail.

Sarashina Horii is located at 45 E. 20th Street, New York, NY (917) 409-0546
