After an agonizing yearlong wait due to the pandemic, Gage & Tollner (372 Fulton St) in Downtown Brooklyn has finally opened its doors for indoor dining. To celebrate, partners Sohui Kim (chef, Insa /The Good Fork), Ben Schneider (Insa /The Good Fork), and St. John Frizell (Fort Defiance) cut a bright red ribbon at the landmark townhouse which is officially open for business albeit at 50% of capacity. The opening menu includes things like Whole Broiled Porgy with creamed spinach, Shrimp Scampi with gnudi & herbed bread crumbs, and Fried Chicken with cornmeal fritters, not to mention a fully-stocked raw bar with oysters, clams, shrimp cocktail and Kaluga Caviar. Cheers!
