Blu on the Hudson Opens in Weehawken

Blu on the Hudson is a sprawling restaurant with sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline is now open in Weehawken, New Jersey. Blu Hospitality Group, led by Kosta Gianopoulos, is the force behind this massive 30,000-square-foot New American restaurant. The space designed by Peggy Leung, one of the lead designers of Tao Las Vegas, features floor-to-ceilings windows offering spectacular views of Lower Manhattan. There is also a sushi bar featuring izakaya-inspired cuisine.
Diners will discover a seafood forward menu from Executive Chef Juan Carlos “JC” Ortega formerly of Blue Fin, Blue Water Grill, and most recently Catch Steak. The menu features a raw bar selection, sushi and dishes reflecting both land and sea.
Menu highlights include Faroe Island Salmon with purple potatoes, charred squash, labneh; Whole Branzino for Two with béarnaise sauce and charred lemon; and Lobster Fra Diavolo with spicy four-hour tomato sauce. Steak selections include a Westholme Wagyu Tomahawk, Delmonico, Filet Mignon, Porterhouse and more.
Signature cocktails come with names like Voodoo Doll (Rose Smoke Lab Vodka, Chamomile Cordial, Lychee Purée, Lime), Mixed Emotions (Cassia Bark Infused Luna Azul Tequila, Blood Orange, Prickly Pear, Basil, Lime Juice), and Dragon Blüüd (Cardamom-infused Ketel One Vodka, Spiced Pineapple Syrup, Lime, Ginger Beer).
