Chefs Bruce and Eric Bromberg, founders of Blue Ribbon Restaurants, are paying tribute to the culinary tradition, heritage, and vision of Blue Ribbon Sushi’s late co-founder Master Sushi Chef Toshi Ueki. They've created Ueki, an intimate 12-seat omakase dining experience situated on a quiet Greenwich Village Street.
Handmade Japanese fabrics, Shibori, and meticulously dark stained oak wood, Shou Sugi Ban, fill this simple yet elegant space steeped in old world craftsmanship offering a distinct sense of balance and harmony.
Ueki’s team guides guests through a transportive, culinary adventure from palette-enticing appetizers to edomae-style nigiri and temakki, while utilizing the freshest, most pristine ingredients from around the world. Offerings change nightly. One evening, guests might find Maine Lobster & Sea Urchin with Krystal Caviar, Fresh Wasabi, & Gold Leaf on the menu or a delicate Sushi featuring Nodoguro or Kazugodai from Japan. Guests will also find sake, wine, beer, and spirits to complete the experience, all personally selected by the Ueki team.
Ueki’s approach is not fussy, but rather delicious and playful. The mood is described as unpretentious, friendly, and relaxed. The omakase experience is offered Wednesday-Saturday at 6:30 pm sharp and runs approximately 2.5 hours. The cost is $195 per person.
Ueki is located at 34 Downing Street, New York, NY. For more information, visit uekisushi.com
