Call it a flaky victory.

Breads Bakery just claimed the crown for Best Croissant in NYC at French Morning’s annual New York Best Croissant Competition, besting a field of buttery heavyweights in a blind taste test judged by elite pastry pros.

Judges, including Chef Laure Larrose of Angelina Paris, French chef Erwan Picard, and pastry chef Nicolas Botomisy, sampled their way through a sea of golden crescents before naming the Union Square-based bakery this year’s Grand Prize winner.

Stiff competition came from a who’s-who of French-style bakeries across NYC and beyond — including Brooklyn French Bakers, Julien Boulangerie, Aux Merveilleux de Fred, and Je t’aime Patisserie, which made its debut this year out of Bed-Stuy with serious style.

Other contenders included La Bicyclette, La Boulangerie de François, Pistache, St George Coffee, and Three Daughters Baking Co. from Jersey — all vying for glory in a battle of laminated layers and precise folds.

But when it came down to the final bite, Breads Bakery took the (butter-soaked) cake.

Let the croissant cravings commence!
