This November, the Brooklyn Museum is set to host its biggest Children's Book Fair yet! On Sunday, November 10, from 11 am to 3:30 pm, families are invited to join the celebration of books, creativity, and storytelling at the 18th Annual Brooklyn Children's Book Fair in the Museum's Beaux-Arts Court. This free event will feature more than 40 Brooklyn-based authors and illustrators, providing an exciting afternoon of readings, signings, and hands-on art activities perfect for preschoolers to middle schoolers.

What to Expect

The fair will showcase a wide variety of storybooks, picture books, chapter books, graphic novels, and nonfiction titles, with themes ranging from ABCs to adventures on Mars, Brooklyn’s Ocean Parkway, and more. Books in Hindi and Mandarin will also be available, offering a diverse selection of works for children to explore.

Kids will have the unique opportunity to interact with their favorite authors and illustrators, watch live sketches, and even meet social media sensation Maxine the Fluffy Corgi. Along with browsing the booths, children can participate in fun book-related art projects and get their books personally signed by the creators.

Throughout the day, the fair will feature live readings from some of the most exciting new books, including:

12:00 pm: A Boy Named Isamu by James Yang
12:30 pm: Back Home: Story Time with My Father by Arlène Casimir
1:00 pm: The Train Home by Dan-ah Kim
1:30 pm: My Heart Would Like Some More Please by Geshu Sugandh
2:00 pm: Poppy’s Family Patterns by Lauren Semmer
2:30 pm: InvestiGators by John Patrick Green

Meet the Authors and Illustrators
The event will feature a diverse lineup of talented authors and illustrators, including Sara Holly Ackerman, Artie Bennett, Jyoti Gopal, Cameron Roberson, Michele Wong McSween, and many more. Children and their families can enjoy a wide array of activities, from listening to heartfelt stories to engaging with creators whose work has captivated young readers across Brooklyn and beyond.
