Brunch Returns to Hancock St.

Hancock St., the new American-style bistro in the West Village is doing brunch. Restaurateur John McDonald, Founder of Mercer Street Hospitality, is the force behind the restaurant and other notable names such as Lure Fishbar, Bistrot Leo and others. Executive chef Ryan Schmidtberger (Lure Fishbar, The River Café) helms the kitchen.

The menu includes things like Warm Cinnamon Rolls made fresh daily with cream cheese frosting; Brioche French Toast, served with a banana and salted caramel sauce, maple syrup and sliced bananas; Egg & Croissant Sandwich, with scrambled eggs, gruyere cheese, prosciutto and greens; and a Spanish Tortilla Omelet with pancetta, potato, crispy brussels sprouts and shaved cheddar.

Also available for brunch is Hancock St.’s Russian Osetra Caviar service with four or eight ounces of caviar, sour cream and onion potato chips and creme fraiche (perfect for enjoying solo or as an accompaniment to the shared table spread). Cocktails include favorites like Sparkling Sangria with passion liquor, lime and cranberry; Lavender Fizz with lillet, sparkling wine, lemon and club soda; and others.
