Pickleball combines elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong on a badminton-size court that requires a paddle and wiffle ball. Now, CityPickle is bringing it to the Backyard at Hudson Yards as part of Power Hour, a month-long installation taking place October 1-31 offering lessons and clinics in addition to free court rentals. The social sport can be enjoyed by all ages (from 8 to 88 years old) and skill levels.
CityPickle at Hudson Yards will be open Monday-Friday from noon to 7 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Free 1-hour court reservations are available by visiting the CityPickle website City-Pickle.com. CityPickle custom paddles are available to rent for $10 per paddle, or players are welcome to bring their own.
In addition, hour-long clinics taught by USA Pickleball Manhattan Ambassador Katherine Hedden are available for $100 per hour and can be booked by visiting the website.
