Long lines are already forming at Dave’s Hot Chicken on 8th Avenue near 57th Street in Midtown. Started as a pop-up in an East Hollywood parking lot by friends Dave Kopushyan, Arman Oganesyan, and Tommy and Gary Rubenyan with just $900, Dave’s quickly developed a cult following for its hot chicken. Today it is a full-scale chain led by Kopushyan, a chef trained in Thomas Keller’s (French Laundry) organization. Each piece of chicken is topped with Dave’s signature mix of spices ranging from No Spice to “The Reaper.”
The chicken is served as tenders or sliders, or a combination of both with kale slaw pickles and a side of Dave’s sauce. Sides include Mac n cheese, fries and cheese fries, along with milkshakes made with real ice cream. The vibrant space is decorated with street art.
Dave’s is located at 944 Eighth Ave, New York, NY
