Dear Strangers is the newest addition to the West Village, bringing a unique blend of cocktails, Latin-inspired cuisine, and a space designed to foster unforgettable connections. The bar, set to open its doors on November 19th, is the creation of three experienced hospitality professionals—Ivan Papic, Ivan Radulovic, and Bratislav Glisic—who bring their combined experience from celebrated spots like Employees Only and Macao Trading Company.

The team’s diverse backgrounds shine through in every element of Dear Strangers, a concept that blends influences from Panama, New York, and beyond. “Our goal is to create a space where the drinks are as memorable as the people you meet,” said co-founder Ivan Papic.

The cocktail menu at Dear Strangers features a mix of adventurous flavors with a Latin American twist. Standout drinks include the Angie, made with gin, maracuya (Brazilian passion fruit), and matcha, and the Star Treatment, which blends sotol, cilantro syrup, coconut milk, and lime. There are also modern takes on classic cocktails, such as the Smokin’ Bandit, a smoky rye whiskey concoction with peated Scotch and yuzu soda. For gin lovers, the bar offers creative twists on the traditional gin and tonic, including the Supersonic Gin & Tonic, inspired by the lyrics of an Oasis song and paired with homemade tonics.

The food menu, developed in consultation with Chef Diego Rodriguez (formerly of Popular), celebrates Latin American flavors with a modern American twist. Dishes like the refreshing Green Aguachile with shrimp and jicama, the vibrant Grilled Salad with Peruvian huacatay and feta, and the indulgent Bisque de Tigre Chilaquiles with lobster and prawn will make every meal feel like an experience. For dessert, the Cheesecake Buñuelo offers a sweet finish with a mix of soft cream cheese, sweet potato, and orange vanilla tonka bean ice cream.

The design of Dear Strangers enhances its sense of exploration, with a space that blends sophistication and comfort. The interior, by Dutch East Design, combines velvety textures, polished wood, and brass accents with bold geometric patterns and dramatic lighting. A private dining room at the back offers an intimate atmosphere, while the eclectic music collection—from Nigerian beats to British rock—creates a dynamic ambiance that complements the bar's vibe.

Whether you're coming for an innovative cocktail, a memorable meal, or simply to meet new people, Dear Strangers offers a space to make those moments last. As Papic likes to say, "Don't be a stranger at Dear Strangers."
