Chef Dominique Ansel is teaming up with Chef Eric Sze of NYC's Taiwanese restaurant, 886, to celebrate Chinese New Year with a French-Style Shao Bing Pork Belly Sandwich with Peanut Mi Jiang Latte.
The slow-braised Taiwanese pork belly is served on a homemade French-style shao bing (a traditional Chinese and Taiwanese sesame seed flatbread most often served for breakfast). Chef Dominique's verison is made with Beurre d'Isigny butter and Grands Moulins des Paris flour from France giving it a beautifully flaky texture. It is topped with cilantro, pickled mustard greens with garlic and chili, and peanut sugar with a hint of paprika.
The pork belly sandwich is served with a made-from-scratch Peanut Mi Jiang (peanut rice milk) latte for $22. It is being offered from Friday, January 20th - Sunday, January 22nd (for Chinese New Year weekend), 8am until sold out daily.
