Experimental Cocktail Club New York, a revival the famed cocktail haven of the same name that shuttered on the Lower East Side in 2016, is making a comeback in Flatiron at 6 West 24th Street.

The cocktail bar now operates as an intimate subterranean lounge beneath French wine bar La Compagnie Flatiron, creating an intriguing dual concept experience for guests.

“We are excited to show a renewed investment in the city, especially in a historic neighborhood like Flatiron,“ said Experimental Group cofounder Romée de Goriainoff. “We look forward to building our New York footprint by delivering our signature standard of hospitality and forward-thinking design.”

Internationally-recognized bartender and ECC alumnus Nico de Soto plays with flavors emblematic of his world travels and unmistakably French. Cocktails include The Alsacien (Gewürztraminer, verjus, chamomile, honey, bee pollen); French Nog (bourbon, Genepi, cream, strawberries, vanilla, egg); Ispahan (tequila, mezcal, sweet vermouth, Campari, lychee, raspberry, rose); Mah-Ná-Mah-Na (oleo lime banana, spices, lime, soda).

Siganture bites include Chickpeas with za’atar and feta; Gougères Au Poivre with Bordier butter; Wagyu Bologna Sando with raclette and dijonnaise; Frites with pepper brine aioli and smoked whiskey ketchup; and Red Endives & White Sturgeon Caviar with cured egg yolk and crème fraiche.

Located in a building erected in the 1860s, the space combines modern and existing design, including supple roots, which descend from the ceiling and wrap themselves around the bar’s columns, walls, and lamps.

Beyond its captivating half-moon bar and upholstered banquettes, the centerpiece is a lacquered white piano, which plays host to a rotating ensemble of pianists and DJs. Patrons can also expect music-focused events like vinyl storytelling and cabaret nights in the future.
