Another Shot

Former “Frasier” star Dan Butler stars in this heartfelt new play based on the experiences of Chicago sports radio personality Harry Teinowitz, whose career and life were put in jeopardy following an arrest for DUI. (Signature Theater)

Ashes & Ink

The always superb Kathry Erbe (“Law & Order: Criminal Intent”) headlines this new drama about a still grieving widow now struggling to deal with her son’s addiction issues, which could derail his future. (AMT Theater)

Drag: The Musical

This exuberant and extravagant show about two rival drag shows proves to be the perfect vehicle for such beloved “Ru Paul’s Drag Race” queens as Alaska Thunderfuck, Jujubee, Jan Sport and Luxx Noir London, all of whom hold their own against such Broadway vets as Nick Adams (buffer than ever) and former New Kids on the Block star Joey McIntyre. Sashay this way. (New World Stages)

Fatherland

Using statements, case evidence, and official court transcripts, this powerful two-hander relates the true story of an 18-year-old boy who turned his father in to the FBI because of his militant role in the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. (New York City Center Stage II)

Hold On To Me Darling

Huzzah! Oscar nominee Adam Driver finally returns to the stage -- in a terrific performance -- as the womanizing, narcissistic, and severely messed-up country superstar Strings McCrane in this welcome revival of Kenneth Lonergan’s shaggy (three-hours-long) but ultimately satisfying 2016 comedy. (Lucille Lortel Theatre)

Little Shop of Horrors

The long-running Howard Ashman-Alan Menken musical would be the perfect Halloween treat no matter who stars in it. But the brand-new addition of long-absent Tony Award nominee Sherie Rene Scott as the down-and-out Audrey and the charismatic Nicholas Christopher (“Jelly’s Last Jam,” “Sweeney Todd”) as her nerdy savior Seymour is the ideal icing on the proverbial pumpkin cake. (Westside Theatre)

Shit. Meet. Fan.

The ever-provocative writer and director Robert O’Hara has assembled a superstar-studded cast, including Neil Patrick Harris, Jane Krakowski, Debra Messing, and Constance Wu, for this satire about a group of long-time friends at a game night that gets wilder than expected. (MCC Theatre)

The Big Gay Jamboree

“Titanique” star and co-creator Marla Mindelle does double duty again, this time as a woman who wakes up hungover trapped inside an Off-Broadway musical -- with no memory of how she got there and only one way to get out! (Orpheum Theatre)

Teeth

Alyse Alan Louis delivers a star-making performance as a girl who unwittingly discovers she possesses deadly private parts in this superbly funny musical, co-written by Pulitzer Prize winner Michael R. Jackson (“A Strange Loop.”) It’s worth every bite! (New World Stages)

Vladimir

The shadow of the titular Russian dictator looms large over Erika Sheffer’s based-on-the-headlines tale of two journalists (played by Francesca Faridany and Norbert Leo Butz) who put their lives in danger while tackling a possibly explosive story that Mr. Putin would definitely not like to see printed.
