Veteran restaurateur Riccardo Dardha (Bread & Tulips) has opened Figlia in Astoria with a menu of neo-Neapolitan pizzas from a custom-built pizza oven.

The pizzas come with toppings such as Mortadella with pickled fresno peppers, pistachio, fior di latte, and grana padano; Maitake Mushrooms with mozzarella, caciocavallo, pickled shallots, and thyme; Nduja & Burrata with crushed tomato, roasted onions, garlic, and basil; and Quattro Formaggi with mozzarella, grana, and fontal (fontina style family). Figlia’s dough undergoes fermentation for more than 48-hours and is baked at 750 degrees. The restaurant is also using local ingredients from Jersey Girl Cheese, Astoria Seafood, Niman Ranch and more.
