For the first time since 1959, the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree will come from Massachusetts, adding a special touch to New York’s iconic holiday tradition. The tree—a majestic Norway Spruce—was selected from West Stockbridge in the Southern Berkshires and will make its way to the city on Saturday, November 9, 2024. The tree-cutting is set for Thursday, November 7.

Once it arrives, the tree will be adorned with over 50,000 energy-efficient, multi-colored LED lights and topped with a radiant Swarovski star. This cherished symbol of the holiday season will come to life during the annual “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” lighting ceremony, airing live on December 4, 2024. Visitors can enjoy the breathtaking display until mid-January 2025.

The return of a Massachusetts tree to Rockefeller Center promises a uniquely historic celebration, blending New England charm with New York City holiday magic.
