The sign had been up for months, but the opening of Brooklyn-based Glizzy’s remained elusive. That is until now. The shop known for its signature “glizzies” or hot dogs has officially arrived on St Marks Place in the East Village.
The signature dogs include the New York Classic with red sauce, sauerkraut and spicy brown mustard; OG Lucy’s with cucumber, cilantro, basil, mayo, pickled carrots with hoisin and sriracha (above); Chinatown with cucumber, chili crisps, cilantro, fried shallots, scallions and mapo sauce; Yammy with chili, bacon, tomatoes and cucumbers, Houston We Have A Problem with smoked brisket chili, chopped onions, fried onions, and cheddar cheese sauce; and The Metroline with chopped onions, tomatoes, bacon, cheddar cheese sauce and salsa verde.
Orders are taken via kiosk with prices ranging from $6 to $9. Guest can also make their own glizzy by choosing from more than 30 different toppings and sauces.
Glizzy’s is located at 34 St Marks Pl, New York, NY. For more information, visit instagram.com/glizzysnyc
