Toronto's most celebrated Indian chef Hemant Bhagwani is channeling the flavors of Goa at his new Manhattan restaurant. The stunning bi-level space stimulates the senses with vibrant pops of color, wall projections, custom designed lighting and art installations making this unlike any other Indian restaurant in NYC.

The menu offers playful and interactive interpretations of Indian cuisine. Menu options include Lobster Idli Xec Xec with black pepper spiced lobster in Goan coconut xec xec curry (traditionally made with crab) and rice cakes; Goan Prawn Curry with garlic ginger prawns simmered in curry with okra, coconut and dried mango; Charcoal Butter Chicken smoked with binochtan charcoal and topped with mushrooms; and Hemant's legendary grilled lamb chops, a dish he has served for more than 20 years.

Soaring above the entrance is 'The Dance of the Peacocks,' a large flowing artwork evoking the movement of two peacocks by artist Ankon Mitra which pays homage to the Japanese traditions of origami and kirigami. In the center of the first floor, a tree constructed with white birch branches, preserved Amaranth and silk is inspired by the famous century-old banyan tree in Arambol, Goa that attracts visitors from around the world for yoga and meditation.

Goa New York is located at 78 Leonard Street in Tribeca. For more information, visit goa-nyc.com
