Grand Brasserie has officially opened its doors in the iconic Vanderbilt Hall at Grand Central Terminal, offering a classic French brasserie experience in one of New York City's most historic spaces. With seating for 400 guests, this new restaurant is set to become a staple in the city's culinary scene, blending the timeless charm of a Parisian brasserie with the spirit of classic New York. Designed by the renowned Rockwell Group, Grand Brasserie pays tribute to Grand Central's architectural grandeur while creating a fresh and inviting atmosphere.

The restaurant is led by Vizz Group, founded by CEO Rick Blatstein and President Justin Blatstein. Their team brings decades of experience to this ambitious project, driven by a passion for creating unique dining experiences. Executive Chef Guillaume Thivet, formerly of Verōnika at Fotografiska, heads the kitchen. Chef Thivet has honed his expertise in French cuisine at renowned establishments like Bouley, Brasserie Les Halles, and La Grande Boucherie, crafting an accessible yet refined menu that highlights the best of French brasserie dining.

Chef Thivet’s menu celebrates traditional French brasserie fare, offering a wide range of options from brunch to dinner. Brunch, available from 5:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., includes standout dishes like the Lobster Omelette with smoked char roe beurre blanc and a Smoked Salmon Tower with bagels, cream cheese, tomato and cucumber. Diners can also enjoy housemade Viennoiserie pastries and classic brunch items such as Steak and Eggs.

The dinner menu, served from 3:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., offers a variety of hors d'oeuvres, entrées, and desserts. Highlights include Foie Gras Mousse with brioche toast and cherry gelée, Onion Soup Gratinée, Shrimp Cocktail, Moules Frites, and several cuts of Steak Frites served with sauces like Au Poivre and Béarnaise. Dessert lovers can indulge in Profiteroles with rich chocolate and whipped cream or a traditional Baba Au Rhum.

Led by Beverage Director Vito Centrone, the bar at Grand Brasserie features a curated selection of elegant cocktails and an extensive wine list. Signature drinks include the La Vie En Rose, a vodka rosewater Cosmopolitan, and the Now or Never, a hibiscus-lavender mojito. With over 400 wine labels and forty available by the glass, the wine list is designed to suit any occasion, offering both approachable choices and rare vintages.

The Rockwell Group’s design transforms Vanderbilt Hall into a brasserie that combines historic grandeur with modern comfort. The 300-seat main dining room and the 100-seat Green Room feature rich leather banquettes, a grand marble bar, and custom lighting, creating a space that is both intimate and impressive.

Guests will also find a separate bar and dining area tucked away in the back of the restaurant with a distinct, clubby atmosphere.

Located in Grand Central Terminal, Grand Brasserie promises to offer an unforgettable dining experience that blends the sophistication of French cuisine with the vibrant energy of New York
