Hutong New York Launches New Bei Fang Dim Sum Series

Hutong New York, known for its elevated Northern Chinese cuisine, has introduced a new culinary experience—the Bei Fang Dim Sum Series. This innovative collection of eight dim sum dishes, available at all Hutong locations worldwide (New York, Miami, London, Dubai, and Hong Kong), celebrates the number 8, which symbolizes prosperity and success.

Developed by Group Executive Dim Sum Chef Leung Kwok-Wah and Dim Sum Head Chef Lo Wai Kin, the Bei Fang Dim Sum Series reimagines traditional Northern Chinese flavors with Southern Chinese dim sum techniques. Guests can savor these dishes à la carte or as part of a tasting menu.

Highlights of the series include:

  • Pan-fried Spiced Shrimp & Scallop Pot Sticker: A bold Northern China snack made with spicy fennel sauce, shrimp, scallops, cuttlefish, and vegetables.

  • Pan-fried Lamb Bamboo Charcoal Bao: Inspired by Xinjiang's popular cumin lamb, this dish features Shanghai-style black buns with a nutrient-rich bamboo charcoal powder.

  • Poached Chicken & Black Garlic Spicy Wonton: A Sichuan-inspired dumpling filled with 21-day fermented black garlic and served in smoky chili oil and Shandong peppers.

  • Crispy Crab Roe and Caviar Dumpling: A Cantonese-style deep-fried dumpling filled with stir-fried crab roe, offering a sophisticated twist on traditional Huaiyang cuisine.

The Bei Fang Dim Sum Series is available at Hutong New York (731 Lexington Ave), offering guests an exciting way to experience authentic Northern Chinese cuisine with a global twist.
