LITTLEMAD OPENS IN KOREATOWN
June 9, 2021, 5:31.40 pm ET
LittleMad, a vibrant new Korean-American restaurant from Executive Chef Sol Han in partnership with HAND hospitality, has opened at 110 Madison Ave (between 29th and 30th Streets.). The eatery combines Sol’s Korean-American background, with French and Italian culinary techniques as well as his penchant for playful, visual and interactive elements.
The modern industrial 50-seat dining room features floor-to-ceiling glass doors, exposed wood ceilings and copper details woven throughout the space, which are inspired by Sol’s love of French cooking pots. An open kitchen centers the energy of the dining room, and an intimate bar offers an additional six seats.
The menu’s highlights include Yellowtail with Asian pear, sesame dressing and scallion oil; Beef Tartare with yukhwe, shitake and a maesangi chip, crushed tableside with a mini wood hammer; Pyeonyuk Torchon with head cheese, market greens and yangyum dressing; Zucchini a la Cesar with black sesame, parsley and blossoms; Fried Buhsut with maitake mushrooms, sour cream and onion; Nduja Toast with manila clam, pickled pearls and herbs; Soft Shell Crab with speck, pea leaves and sabayon; Crispy Bossam with marcona almonds, anchovy and horseradish; and Black Bass with artichoke, mussel and pickled ramp kimchi.
The beverage menu features the best of Eastern and Western offerings, with signature cocktails like Sol Honey, made with damsol and Korean honey, and Yes Yes Yuzu, made with bourbon and yuzu, as well as a selection of soju, and an extensive wine list.
